Alpha Epsilon Pi was founded to provide opportunities for the Jewish college man seeking the best possible college and fraternity experience. We have maintained the integrity of our purpose by strengthening our ties to the Jewish community, as well as embracing brothers of all backgrounds and faiths. and serving as a link between high school and career.

The fraternity was founded in 1913 by eleven students at New York University. In the fraternity's 100-year history, over 110,000 men have worn the badge of Alpha Epsilon Pi and each year, over 2,500 undergraduates perform the Ritual of Initiation, which remains the same ritual adopted decades ago. AEPi now has chapters all over the world, providing a truly global network. In addition to the United States, the fraternity has established chapters in Canada, the United Kingdom, Israel and Australia.

Georgetown's Eta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi was founded in 2002 by a handful of students who believed that Georgetown lacked a home for young Jewish men who sought the benefits of greek life. Today, we accept new members of all backgrounds, as long as they embrace the values and history of our fraternity. Working independently from the University, the Eta Sigma Chapter was officially chartered, and has thrived for over 20 years. Today, the chapter stands as the oldest and largest social fraternity at Georgetown, with over 100 brothers from 20 states and 9 countries.
